Abolitionist Felicity Phelps, after
watching her parents tragically
murdered attempting to aid a family of
runners, escapes the perils of war when
she travels abroad seeking a fresh start.
Discouraged and brokenhearted,
Felicity discovers that life in Victorian
England is not as charming as she was
lead to believe as a child by her
beloved grandmother.
Human suffering exists in England, just
as it had in her beloved South. The
poor are forced to live in warehouses,
while those of means -- the elite of
society -- enjoy a life filled with power,
lust, and greed.
She soon discovers that even the good
vicar, a man Felicity trusts and admires,
is also guilty of lies and deceit, all the
while claiming virtues beyond reproach.
Will illicit love taint Felicity's virtues?

Reviews....
Outstanding!

“Virtuous Dove”, wow, I don’t even know where to begin. The novel
was splendid! Taking place during the nineteenth century, the novel
portrays the lives of men and women, both young and old, in the most
outstanding way. Barely making it through the first chapter, I
completely became attached to the characters. The way Linda Daly
created the characters; it made me feel as if I had known them my
entire life! It takes a great and eminent author to create that effect.
Whether you are interested in the Civil War or not, you will love the
book! Take my word for it!
Number 1 book

After I read the first review, I decided to pick the book up myself. Let
me tell you, Adam is not mistaken. "Virtous Dove" is the best book I
have ever read. The author, Linda Daly, created a brilliant
masterpiece, that not only teaches you about the civil war, but how
other people dealed with the situations during this era. She does a
magnificent job creating each image, and describing each place and
event. I fell in love with the characters instantly. The way Mrs. Daly
expresses each characters emotions in great depth, it's unbelievable.
The characters became closer than friends, I thought of them as my
family. Please take my advice, read the book. I guarantee you'll love it
just as much as I have.

One of the most compelling, attention grabbing books I've read in a
long time. A must read for anyone interested in the Victorian / Civil
War era. As a man, and an avid reader, this would not have been a
book I would normally purchase. Being more into action and
adventure. My wife however, after reading it, just raved about it, and
encouraged me to read it as well. Well, all I got to say is WOW!! It
captures your imagination from the first page and transports you right
there, as if you were a part of the story. If you haven't read this book
yet, then get it. Like myself you will not regret it. Man or woman its an
excellent read.
Linda personally responds to all of her email's so please be patient for a response. Thank you.
